Has it been 4 months already?

Last Friday Sam celebrated his 4 month birthday (17 weeks 4 days). I can't believe how quickly the time flies but I am enjoying every minute of it. Sam basically sleeps through the night usually waking between 4:30 and 5:30 and eats a little then goes back down until we get up around 7 or 7:30. He loves his feet and constantly wants to grab them. He is still chewing on his fingers and drooling a good bit but no teeth to be seen. He is a very alert baby and doesn't require too much sleep during the day. For the most part he is still a pretty good nurser but he is starting to get distracted and pulling away (lets just say ouch). At his 4 month appt (18 weeks 1 day) with the pediatrician he was 13 lbs 7.7 oz and 24 3/4 inches. I could have sworn he was 25 3/4 inches but whatever. I have been really nervous about his weight because he was gaining so well then just kind of became steady. Part of it is my fault because I tried to stop feeding him when he woke up at 4 or 5 just gave him the paci, but my doc says that he still needs the calories but by 6 months he should be able to sleep all night without waking up. She wasn't concerned about his weight (which was a relief) she just said he was very active and was burning a lot of calories. After hearing her say this it really does make sense because he is always on the go kicking or playing. He can roll over from tummy to back and is very close to back to tummy. He is such a joy to have around and a very happy baby except when he is tired (he likes to fight sleep).

Here are some 4 month pictures

For Sam...Mommy and Daddy love you so much. We love to play with you and see your beautiful smile. You still love to favor Mommy over Daddy but it's starting to even out some. You are such a wonderful baby and it makes us sad to see you grow up so fast. We can't wait to see what you will be up to next but we cherish every moment we have with you.
